Inspection report regarding DEP Waste Management staff latest inspection at Natural Soil Products.

Minor Permit Modification (Gore Composting System)

Minor permit modification to allow Natural Soil Products to operate the Gore Composting System at its biosolids processing facility in Tremont, Schuylkill County. The system is part of a Consent Order and Agreement with the department that NSP must install to help minimize odors at its facility.

Minor Permit Modification Application

A bio-solids producing company in Tremont, Schuylkill County owned by Tully Environmental Services of New York, that holds a Waste Management Permit from the department. Natural Soil Products (NPS) temporarily accepts 325 tons of sewage sludge a day to produce biosolids.

Acceptance Letter

The department’s acceptance letter for Natural Soil Products’ application for a minor permit modification for a new composting system- Gore Composting System. The installation of the new system is part of the Consent Order and Agreement that Natural Soil Products reached with the department for odor mitigation controls at its facility in Tremont, Schuylkill County.

Consent Order and Agreement

Natural Soil Products (NSP) has agreed to a consent order with the Department of Environmental Protection for violations of the Solid Waste Management Act and Air Pollution Control act for odors emanating its facility in Schuylkill County. The agreement calls for, among other items: A civil penalty of $50,000, an agreement to install additional odor mitigation equipment, Reduce its tonnage of sewage sludge to 325 tons per day, file monthly manufacturing reports with DEP and conduct odor patrols at its facility and in the area around the facility.
