Lackawanna Energy Center

Lackawanna Energy Center is a 1,485-megawatt (MW) natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant (CCPP) located in the Borough of Jessup, Lackawanna County. The plant is currently operating under a Air Quality Plan approval to operate and is applying for a Title V permit to continue operations. The plant utilizes: a combustion gas turbine with a heat recovery steam generator, a steam turbine, and one air-cooled condenser. Additionally, it utilizes a 2,000 kW diesel-fired emergency generator, a 315 HP diesel-fired emergency fire water pump, and one 184.8 million of international British thermal units (IT) per hour (MMBtu/hr) natural gas-fired boiler.

Lackawanna Energy Center is now applying for a Title V Operating Permit to continue operating this facility.
