Energy Funding and Assistance Finder
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) partnered with a contractor,
Fourth Economy, to develop the
Energy Funding and Assistance Finder to assist communities and organizations in identifying opportunities to receive funding and technical assistance for energy projects that can help to reduce pollution, lower bills, and drive the adoption of new, clean, and efficient technologies.
About this Tool
In order to aid in the pursuit of climate-related funding opportunities in Environmental Justice communities, we developed this tool that compiles resources that can support the development of proposals to access opportunities available through the Investment in Infrastructure and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), as well as other opportunities. This includes both the various funding programs and technical assistance resources available for communities to apply for, (Funding Opportunities tab) as well as an accounting and assessment of the many web tools and resources published by various organizations to support in the search and pursuit of such opportunities (Resources Hub tab).
Resource Hub
The system resource hub, focusing on IRA and IIJA, is a comprehensive repository of technical assistance and information published online by private and public organizations. It is designed to centralize information including: the resource name and hosting organization; the type of assistance each resource highlights; the intended users of each resource; and the anticipated benefits and shortcomings of each resource from the perspective of a user in an EJ community.
Funding Opportunities
This tool serves as a central repository of many funding programs for which EJ communities might be eligible. This tab highlights details and deadlines of each funding program, and includes filtering options at the top of each column to help users find programs that meet their search criteria and fit their organization’s assistance needs.
While DEP strives to keep the Energy Funding and Assistance Finder updated on a rolling basis, DEP does not guarantee that every available resource is listed, or that all information is current. DEP also cannot guarantee eligibility of, or award to, any organization.
