Electronics Recycling Management Program
Electronic discards include computers, monitors, televisions, audio equipment, printers, and other electronic devices. Consumer electronic products are characterized by rapidly evolving technology and a relatively short product life. Advances in technology for all electronic equipment soon renders them obsolete. The average lifespan of a computer is about three to four years.
Covered Device Recycling Act
The Covered Device Recycling Act (CDRA), Act 108 of 2010, requires manufacturers to provide recycling programs for desktop computers, laptop computers, computer monitors, computer peripherals and televisions sold to consumers in Pennsylvania. Other requirements also apply. Please see the links below. (Note to manufacturers – this does not include manufacturers of computer peripherals if the manufacturer does not make other covered devices).
