The agency promotes public involvement in the shaping of environmental regulations and policies, fosters environmental justice and equality, and conducts outreach and education.

DEP Speakers' Bureau
DEP's Speakers' Bureau connects the department's professional staff with groups that need speakers with environmental expertise for meetings, conferences and other events. If you need a speaker for your event or meeting, fill out the Speaker Request Form (PDF). DEP will make every effort to accommodate your request. Requests for speakers must be made a minimum of 10 business days in advance of the event. Filling out the form does not guarantee a speaker. This form should not be used to request public meetings and/or hearings. Completed forms should be sent to the Community Relations Coordinator in your area listed on the back of the form. Please note that if you already use DEP employees in informal meetings, without the public and/or media being invited, a Speaker Request Form is not needed.
DEP's electronic toolbox makes use of the latest technology to more effectively involve the public in its decision-making process. Tools such as eNotice, an electronic notification system, allow users to track permit applications, check the status of environmental regulations and notify users of technical guidance document postings. The department's eLibrary provides online access to key documents in both Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF formats, and mapping and GIS tools allow DEP to display environmentally relevant data to contractors and the public.
