Southeastern Region

  • Alderbaugh Foundation: Two grants, ranging $100,000-$200,000, are award each year to organizations in Bucks County.   • The Arcadia Foundation: This foundation awards grants strictly to organizations that have been in operation for at least 3 years in areas with a zip code beginning in 18- or 19-. Grants support a wide variety of projects, including conservation and ecology. For more information, call 610-275-8460.
  • The Barra Foundation: Grants support organizations benefitting the Greater Philadelphia area through arts and culture, education, health, and human services. Funding supports projects that foster a health community, especially in lower-income or neglected areas.   • Beneficia Foundation: The Beneficia Foundation focuses its funds on a wide variety of environmental conservation and arts projects carried out by small organizations to improve the quality of life in communities. Approximately two-thirds of the grants are rewarded within Montgomery County. Applications should include a project summary, project proposal, intended outcome of the project, timetable, expected budget of the project, sources of funding, a totaled amount request, qualifications of project members, and an IRS tax-exempt document.   • Binswanger Foundation: Grants ranging $250-$77,500 are awarded to organizations operating mostly locally in Philadelphia County. Organizations may submit grant requests at any time in letter form, including all important information. For more information, call 215-448-6000.
  • Bread & Roses Community Fund: Since 1971, this foundation has distributed over $10 million in grants to small community based groups focused on social change in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and Camden Counties. For more information and to apply for a grant, click here.
  • Chester County Evergreen Foundation: Grants ranging $5,250-$10,000 are awarded to organizations servings in Chester County for projects aimed at land conservations and environmental education. Submit applications at any time, including a detailed proposal of the project and amount of funding required as well as a description of the organization and its mission.   • CIGNA Foundation: This nationwide grant program focuses on improving the well-being, safety, and health of communities, and provides grants ranging $5,000-$1,560,000. For more information, click here.
  • The Claneil Foundation: Giving’s are focused in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties. This foundation rewards grants to organizations serving the community through projects in arts, community development, education, the environment, or health. For more, click here.
  • The Grundy Foundation: This foundation was established after the death of US Senator Joseph R. Grundy, an active Bucks County and Pennsylvania citizen. His vision was for the foundation to provide grants to projects that benefitted the inhabitants of Bucks County. Projects serving a wide area in the areas of art, education, community development, environment, health, and human services are preferred.   • George & Miriam Martin Foundation: This foundation focuses its efforts on the conservation of rivers and watersheds. There are no formal guidelines and grants may be submitted at any time. Grants range $1,000-$10,000. To access an application or for more information, click here.
  • The McLean Contributionship: Grants in the areas of environmental education and preservation, healthcare coverage, or other projects that enhance the life of residents in Delaware Valley are awarded to organizations operating in the Delaware Valley.   • The Montgomery County Foundation: This community foundation distributes funds to organizations working to improve the local Montgomery County community. To access an application or for more information, click here.
  • William Penn Foundation: This foundation provides grants for projects focused on youth and families, the environment and communities, and arts and culture. Environmental grants are rewarded to organizations aimed at increasing sustainability in the Philadelphia area. To access an application or for more information, click here.
  • The Philadelphia Foundation: Grants ranging $5,000-$348,000 are awarded to organizations providing philanthropic serves in the southeastern Pennsylvania area. Beginning in 1918, this foundation has provided grants to better communities in southeastern Pennsylvania. To access an application or for more information, click here.
  • Pine Tree Foundation: Approximately half of this foundations funding is distributed to the local Montgomery County community. General support grants ranging $5,000-$100,000 may be submitted in letter form at any time, with the application including the organization’s activities as well as an IRS tax-exempt document.
