Susquehanna River Study Updates

susquehannariver450.jpgWorking with our partners at the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, and the United States Geological Survey, staff at DEP continue to undertake a comprehensive, fact- and science-based approach to gather the information needed to ensure the Susquehanna River and its many tributaries are healthy.

A number of issues face the smallmouth bass population, but the causes of these issues have not yet been determined or linked to any particular water quality issue. DEP is dedicated to finding the answer through a disciplined, scientific approach. In a continued commitment to transparency, DEP will provide regular updates on this webpage about what DEP staff is doing and what they are finding.
