Studies

Following a 4-year, multi-agency study of about 100 streams in Pennsylvania and Maryland, the Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC) has released a report detailing the study findings of a new procedure for evaluating impacts of withdrawals on fishery habitat. The purpose of the project was to develop a procedure for determining instream flow needs for streams with naturally-reproducing trout populations in portions of Pennsylvania and Maryland.

SRBC acted as project coordinator, with DEP, SRBC, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Maryland Department of the Environment and the Chesapeake Bay Program providing funding.
