Watershed Management Information
How to Contact Your Watershed Manager
Mario Carrello, as one of DEP's Watershed Managers, works to help address the mining related problems in our watersheds. Mario has worked for the Department for more than 23 years. He brings a wealth of experience earned as a surface mine conservation inspector and compliance specialist to the watershed program. Mario works with volunteer watershed associations to provide help and resources where available. He is a local contact for questions regarding Growing Greener and other state grant programs. He works in the TMDL program, an effort to determine the amount of pollution that has to be removed from our polluted streams in order for them to be healthy.
Please feel free to contact Mario if you have questions regarding watershed assessment or restoration activities. Mario is also available if you have questions concerning abandoned mine lands, mine drainage, or watershed restoration and can present to groups of different ages and backgrounds.
